She's Getting Hungry!

Poor thing -- she's trying to communicate with us and we're feeling like big dummies because it's hard to tell what she's saying. She's hungry - a little mad when we told her she's getting food through her IV and she couldn't have anything to eat. She pointed to her wrist and Nancy figured out that she wanted to know what time it was and the day. When we told her it was Wednesday, her eyes got really big. Her PA pressure made it down into the 50's today! (That's good. It was 110 before surgery and normal is about 25.) Surgeons have her on a ween schedule to get her off the ventilator that will last about 3 more days. Cardiologist doesn't like that and is trying to get them to speed things up. I was hoping for tomorrow! We'll see. The tube in her mouth is really bothering her, but she's on a medication that is supposed to keep her from remembering any struggles she's having with the tube while she drifts in and out of sleepiness. She told me she loved me, looked at Nancy and told her she loved her, and then pointed to the nurse and said she loved her too. Her spirits seem to be pretty good!

Hope all is well with everyone out there! I'll talk to you tomorrow.
Angie
