Cath Rescheduled for Wednesday
Bailey's cath is going to be Wednesday next week, instead of Thursday. They took her VAD rate down to 40 today and all is going well so far. She's still feeling great.
We had a fun afternoon with Cody (cousin) today. He and the girls played games and cards, and Dr. T came to take us all on a train trip to Methodist, but the elevator going to the catwalk was closed. Bummer! So we went to the gift shop instead.
Josie and Marissa are here to spend the night. They've been playing all sorts of stuff with Bailey tonight -- restaurant, hair salon, poker, some gambling game with coins that Scott taught them (thanks a lot, Scott!), and house. They've been busy, busy, busy. They're playing so well together, that I'm terribly bored! So I started reading a book. I'm trying to read a book to give myself a break from crocheting. I thought I'd do a lot more reading during our stay here, but the crocheting has kept me sufficiently busy and I haven't gotten tired of it yet.
Well, I think Perry (our pigeon) must have felt my frustration in not being able to photograph him in all these months, because he landed right outside our window today and posed for me! The pictures aren't great because it was late afternoon and the sun was behind him, but, bless his little heart, he would just look at me, then get a drink, then look at me - even with the flash going off. The pictures don't show all his pretty colors - blue, green, charcoal gray, and bright red eyes - but I got his picture! He's in my good graces again. Haha! Thanks, Perry!
The staff is giving Bailey a special treat for the 4th of July. To view the fireworks, they're taking us up to the heli-pad! That will be so much fun! We're looking forward to that. It will be interesting in itself just to see the heli-pad (we've been watching Lifeline land and take off from there several times a day for 5 months now!) - and then to see the fireworks from there. What fun!
Some friends from work came today and gave us a pitch-in lunch. That was so nice! It was good to see you guys. Thank you all so much for all the goodies and wonderful food. We shared with the nurses, and they say thanks too!
We got to meet another Heart Center patient today - Alex, and her dad. She's 14 years old and has been up here twice since we've been here, but we've somehow missed each other. It was very nice to meet you, Alex. Hopefully we can keep in touch.
Hope everyone has a great, long holiday weekend. Enjoy!
I'll post some more pictures this weekend, and catch you again on Sunday.
Love to all, Angie

Angie -
Thanks for letting Alex and me stop by the other day. We both enjoyed meeting you and Bailey. Please let us know if we can do anything for you. Perhaps we will stop by again sometime so Alex and Bailey can talk about "heart stuff!"
