Silly String Fight

Boy, I'm hoping to get to be "early" tonight (i.e., midnight) . . . I think Bailey's a little tired today. She's had a big birthday weekend. We woke her up at 10:00 this morning to take 8:00 medication, and shortly thereafter Child Life surprised her with a bombardment of silly string and gifts. So, being the teen that she now is, she saved the silly string and got Dr. T when he came in today. All the nurses were crowded around the window looking in and, after Bailey got Dr. T, he ran to the window, pulled the curtain across the room so there were no witnesses, stole Bailey's silly string, and got her back! And, of course, Mom was left to clean up the mess. We got one little string on the Berlin Heart -- I have no idea how it escaped.

We gave Dr. T a copy of the picture of him and Bailey at the Pacer's game. He really liked it -- but he tried to set himself up as the "victim" in their relationship. Yeah, whatever! Then he ran and stood just outside of the door of our room, looked in and said - with his hands on his hips - "I bet you can't get me now [with the silly string]!" I think he was quite safe since Bailey's attached with a 6-foot tubing to a 200 lb. box. Kids!

I hope everyone out there is having a good week, good spring break, or whatever the case may be. Travel safely! Don't forget about us in here - we've been here 67 days.

Talk to you tomorrow!

Hi Ang & Bailey! I remember silly string! When I was a kid (in the Bronx) we used to play with it in the street and get it all over people's cars. Boy, they didn't like that very much!!!!

Bailey sure does have a great team behind her - the staff at Riley is so caring and go way beyond 100%. Bailey really made a huge impression on everyone who comes in contact with her!

Well, I have to get ready for work - I'll pray that today is "the day" for you! Have a good day, guys!!!!

Annette :)

Hey Ang and Bailey sounds like you are keeping very busy and at least having some fun which is good. It was so good to talk with you both on Sunday. It's so great that you are a teenager now Bailey! Really enjoyed seeing the pictures too, thanks Ang for keeping us all informed. It's really refreshing to see such good pics of you all. I got a real kick out of Josie and Marissa's pictures too. What beautiful girls you have -- Homecoming Queens are in the distant future!! Praying for the big day to come soon.

Much Love,
Julie, Dale and Jasmine

I'm glad you guys are keeping dr. T in line - he may have escaped this time, but if I know you, Bailey, he won't escape you for long!
Talk to you soon!

Angie & Bailey,
You are not forgotten. We pray for you every day. We weep with you for your pain and we admire your eternal hope and enthusiam. You have been a great inspiration to all of us. You have caused us to reflect upon our own lives and given us a new perspective for the shoes we are standing in. Every day we all run to the Blogger to see the new posting, it's a compeling behavior. We try to keep the same balance you do: we are hopeful that a heart has arrived, but we keep our expectations low so we are not dissappointed. We have been with you everyday. May God Bless you. Sue

Angie and Bailey: Sue is right. You are certainly not forgotten, you are with us every day. When the normal daily annoyances crop up, and as you know, they occur frequently at work, we can tell ourselves that they are just that, annoyances and should not be taken too seriously. Your patience and courage give us an example of what truly IS important. We love you both. Diane
